HEPA Air Filters

Hepa Filter

Hepa filters are made up of small fiberglass fibers. These glass fibers trap particles in the air as air passes over them. They remove 99.97% of the particles in the air. In our opinion these are the best air filters.

UV Air Filters

UV Filter

UV filters use Ultra Violent light to sterilize the air. They can remove germs, bacteria, and other nasty things in the air. They still need a filter to remove the particles from the air. Some air purifiers are beginning to use UV light.

UV light is not used just in air purifiers. UV water filters can get can rid of the biological contaminants in your water.

Activated Charcoal Air Filters

UV Filter

These are used to filter some harmful chemicals out of the air. They can also remove some of the odors from the air. They are usually used together with other filter types, usually HEPA.

Ionizing Air Filters

These kinds of filters use electricity to give a charge to particles in the air. The charged particles are then attracted to collector plates or another filter. When used correctly they can be very effective.

Negative Ion Generators

These air purifiers use electricity to convert air molecules into negative ions. The negative ions can improve people's mood and help relieve depression. They also can help remove pollutants from the air.

Electrostatic Air Cleaners

These air cleaners are similar to both ionizers and negative ion generators. They discharge electricity to charge the particles in the air. The particles are then collected on metal plates. These purifiers use permanent filters. You never need to buy replacement filters.

Ozone Generator Air Purifiers

Air cleaner filters that generate large amounts of ozone are very effective at removing odors. However, large amounts of ozone are harmful to people. These should only be used in empty rooms. Because of this we do not recommend using these kinds of filters in you house.
