Blueair Air Purifier Review

A Blueair air purifier uses an electrostatic and a mechanical filter to filter particles from the air. A regular HEPA filter is certified to remove 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns and larger from the air. Blueair air purifiers can remove 99.97% of particles 0.1 micron and larger from the air.

These are machines are very good. In tests at Air-Purifier-America.com, the Blueair 203 and Eco removed 98% of all particles from the air. That is pretty impressive.

These machines are very energy efficient. They use the same amount of energy as a light bulb.

This means you can run a Blueair air purifier all day and still NOT see a big increase in your electric bill.

What Does it Remove?

Blueair Air Purifier 203 Do you have protection?

Blueair Purifiers can remove most allergens from the air. They also remove some gases, odors, and harmful chemicals.

Some of these machines have an optional smokestop filter. These filters contain more activated carbon. They will do a better job of removing gases, odors, and chemicals.

Be sure to check that your model can be fitted with a smokestop filter.

E Series

Blueair offers an E Series of air purifiers. These models have a remote control and a digital display. Do you want the convenience of a remote? Make sure to get an E Series Blueair air purifier.

How They Work

  1. The air flows into the air purifier from the bottom.
  2. The air passes through ionizers that charge the particles in the air.
  3. The air passes through the HEPAsilent filter.
  4. The air is returned through the top and sides.

The HEPAsilent filter has holes that are larger than a normal filter. This is possible because the ionizer charges the particles. Since they are charged they stick to the filter better. The larger holes in the filter mean the fan has to work less to move air. This means it is quieter than other air purifiers.

The air return is also larger than other air purifiers. Then also helps to reduce noise.

It does use an ionizer. Ionizers can produce ozone. The Blueair air purifier actually reduces the amount of ozone in the air.
